January 10, 2018

We are delighted to announce the opening of our first office in Myanmar. The opening ceremony and the official announcement was held at our newly established office on January 9th, 2018, in Mayangone Township, Yangon.

Prior to our revered guests’ arrival, we held a blessing ceremony with the prayers led by head monk of Alan Pya Kyaung Dite Monastery, Alan Pya Sayar Daw Phaya.

Following the prayers we offered a traditional meal to our monasterial guests. It was a great opportunity for us at JFE Meranti, local as well as international members, to appreciate the Myanmar custom and culture.

Our guests arrived in the afternoon and we were honoured to welcome them to the new JFE Meranti office.

During the ceremony, Mr. Yoshiyuki Nobusa from JFE Steel and Mr. Sebastian Langendorf from Meranti Steel gave introductions to our company and new journey we are embarking in Myanmar.

After a presentation on our company’s history and values, our VP of Technical Services Mr. Garry Battye showcased our brand identity to the guests.
